Make a contribution to support the Crimean Tatar dance ensemble «BaDeM»

Unique Emir-Djelal, charming Tim-Tim and exciting Agır Ava ve Khaytarma....maybe these names means nothing to you, but they are the whole world for us. We try to present Crimea in our dances. We are Lenura, Aziza, Olga, Nara, Elya, and together we are "BaDeM".

The story of choreographer Elnara

When in 2013 I moved from Simferopol to Kiyiv there so many things came in to the sight I started to miss: my native land, my family, my friends, the sincere and sensational Crimean Tatar’s weddings, our dances and songs....The first several months in Kiyiv were so much sorrowful that every moment I have thought to pack my bags and come back home, to place where the coffee smells and Mom hugs you.

But one sunny day I stopped to miss. That's when my good friend offered to create Crimean Tatar’s language and dance courses for children and adults. In this way we have approached our Crimea in our minds. And we had a success. Then some subsequent challenges have occurred and made our desire to develop Crimean Tatar’s cultural heritage on the mainland where it could be in safety.

The invaders have come to our native land, they brought not only fear and struggle with dissent but also they had an aim to make all the efforts to develop our culture unavailing. Because of this our national dances are much more than just the way to approach our Crimea in our minds. So we have made a lot of efforts. After hard work day we gathered in dance room and learned movements. It was not in vain. Today the girls from «BaDeM» bring joy to the audience by performing wonderful folk dances.

Where the soul is

You could see us at Pasha Fest or at Krayina Mriy Festival. Maybe you couldn't remove gaze from sensitive Tim-Tim at one of our concerts or maybe even took a picture of girls with long hair and beautiful eyes. Nowadays there are 6 girls and 15 children in ensemble.

Of course for our performances we need national costumes. It is essential part of our work. The aim which we want to achieve is saving authenticity of them. Our grandmothers told us about how they used to dress in past, which colors they have preferred and what the elements on their dresses mean. In the same time we also want to make our dresses suitable for stage.

So yes, we are girls, and we collect money for our costumes.
